The Directors

John and Tara McCormick are the proud parents of 5 children, Tristan, Liam, Kiara, Bridgette, and Nolan.  They own and manage the Kioko Center and reside in Andover, MA.  

Tara McCormick, OTR/L, OTD,  completed both her Bachelors and Clinical Doctorate degrees at  Creighton  University in Omaha, NE.  A native of a small farming community in Nebraska, and youngest of 13 children, Tara, understands the concepts of commitment, hard work, and flexibility.  She grew up working on the farm with her parents and siblings to plant/harvest grain fields and raise cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens.  These values and ethics engrained in her since a young child have carried over into her commitment to help her clients and their families. 

In addition to being SIPT Certified, Interactive Metronome Certified, and Handwriting without Tears Certified, Tara has additional training in the following areas of pediatric therapy:  Listening Therapy, DIR/Floor Time therapies, Aquatic therapy, and Hippotherapy.  She is currently undertaking a three level course series for clinical training in the psychological treatment of children with trauma-attachment problems. Tara understands the values of keeping her and her staff educated on the newest and most valued clinical education in the field of Occupational Therapy and makes this a top priority for her center. She has and continues to participate in Lucy Jane Millers mentoring program in Denver, CO and has helped Lucy and WPS collect data through evaluating children at her clinic to assist them in developing more assessment tools for children with Sensory Processing Disorder.
