Alyson Shaheen, M.S., CCC-SLP, originally from Methuen, completed her Bachelors degree at Assumption College in Worcester, MA, where she majored in Psychology and concentrated in Speech-Language Pathology, and received her Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worcester State University. Alyson works at the Kioko Center as a per diem speech-language pathologist during after school hours. Full time, Alyson works in the high school program of a local special education collaborative. She specializes in pragmatic language skill acquisition and both functional and developmental language reception, formulation and expansion, using adapted strategies to teach these skills when appropriate. She loves working with the children, families and staff at the Kioko Center to provide speech and language intervention that addresses the individual needs of each child and concerns of each family.
