Jessica Kenney has been working as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2007. She has worked for the Kioko Center since April of 2008. Jessica graduated with her Bachelors of Arts from Assumption College with a major in Psychology and her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. Her passion for working in pediatrics sparked in graduate school with a trip she took to Romania to work with orphans with special needs. She continues to share this passion working alongside Tara McCormick, John McCormick, and Sean Kenney as co-founders of Global Occupational Therapy for Orphans (G.O.T. Orphans). Jessica is SIPT (Sensory Integration Praxis Testing) certified and has advanced training in Handwriting Without Tears, the Therapeutic Listening Program, the SOS Approach to feeding. Jessica has also attended professional development courses including, but not limited to: Training in Trauma-Attachment Problems; Nutrition To Improve Therapy Outcomes: Strategies to Enhance, Attention, Behavior, and Cognition; Intensive Handling and Problem Solving for Function; The Whole Child Approach S.A.N.E. Strategies; and the Goal-Oriented Assessment of Lifeskills (GOAL). Jessica currently spends most of her time raising her 2 young children and looks forward to her days working at the Kioko Center.
