The KIOKO CENTER’s mission is our name. KIOKO is Japanese for Happy Child. At the Kioko Center our staff is focused on providing personalized care that honors each child’s uniqueness and the integrity of his/her family. Our goal is to provide meaningful and productive therapy that improves the life of each child at home, at school, and in the community. We welcome the privilege of collaborating with families to achieve this goal.

The Kioko Center Occupational Therapist pride themselves in being Up to Date and Innovative Therapist with a love and passion for what they do- helping children become the best that they can be by building self esteem, confidence, social skills, motor skills, and sensory processing skills. Our staff works with children and their parents, caregivers, teachers, physicians, and other care providers to establish a holistic and team approach to each individual child’s treatment planning or program. We get to know each child’s personalities, preferences and hobbies or pastimes to help them achieve their goals.

Our therapists are highly trained specialists in pediatrics with years of experience as well as specialized training in Sensory Integration therapy, Neuro-Developemental Therapy Listening Therapy, Floor Time Therapy, Alert Program training, Craniosacral Therapy, Vestibular Training, Visual Training, Oral Motor Therapies, Aquatic Therapy, Hippotherapy, Interactive Metronome and much more. We not only keep our selves current by constantly attending professional training seminars, we provide training to student therapist from local Universities and Occupational Therapy Programs. Our clinic has also worked with WPS and Dr. Lucy Jane Miller in collecting research data on assessment tools used for the pediatric population.

We offer monthly support group meetings in conjunction with Casey Quirk, founder of the SPD support group, providing parents and caregivers information on a variety of topics related to pediatric occupational therapy/ sensory integration therapy.
